(2) Alauddin Khilji:

  1. Alauddin Khilji was the second ruler of the Khilji dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate. 

  2. He is known for his military conquests and strict administrative reforms. 

  3. He introduced price control, market reforms, and strengthened the army. 

  4. His reign marked the expansion of the Delhi Sultanate.

  1. The architecture of the Sultanate period was a beautiful blend of Indian and Islamic styles. 

  2. Many grand buildings, mosques, and forts were constructed during this time. 

  3. The use of domes, arches, minarets, and decorative carvings became popular. 

  4. Qutub Minar in Delhi is one of the finest examples of Sultanate architecture. 

  5. The Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque and Alai Darwaza also reflect the artistic skills of that period. 

  6. The rulers also built forts, palaces, and tombs with beautiful designs. 

  7. The architecture of the Sultanate period showed strength, beauty, and rich craftsmanship.

Krishnadev Rai


  1. Krishnadev Rai was the best ruler of Tuluva dynasty of the Vijaynagar empire. He was the great and powerful ruler of India at that time. 

  2. He won many battles during his rule. He standardized the administration of his state.

  3. He got lakes and canals dug for the irrigation in the state and enriched agriculture. 

  4. He abolished some unjust taxes, and gained love of the people. He established a new town called Nagalpur near Vijaynagar. 

  5. He decorated that town with various buildings and magnificent temples. Krishnadev Rai was himself a great scholar. 

  6. He was a devotee of literary art. He was a writer of Telugu and Sanskrit. He wrote a book called 'Amuktamalyada'. He gave shelter to many poets. 

  7. Krishnadev Rai had encouraged literature and art like King Bhoj. Hence, he became well-known as the 'Bhoj of Andhra'.
